- Chita city was born in 1970.
- Coastal areas have industrial areas such as power plants and refineries, The inland area has developed as a city full of agriculture such as small onion "Pekorosu" and butterbur "Fuki".
- Our city has many tourist assets such as 'The Sori Greenery and Floral FUREAI Park' and 'Shinmaiko Marine Park' and also has cultural assets such as Okada Simple post office which is the oldest in our prefecture.

◆ Shinmaiko Marine Park
Shinmaiko Marine opened in 1997, where port of Nagoya union maintenanced for improvew union.
The park is an activity base of marine recreational and very popular among the young population.
The park's beach, named the "blue sun beach" is a 400m long man-made beach.
You can look out onto beautiful Ise Bay and the Suzuka Ranges, and departure and arrival from Chubu Centrair International Airport, navigation of a large sized ship, which lie in the background.
This place is also known as the area of windsurfing All Japan Championship
◆ The Sori Greenery and Floral FUREAI Park
Sori Greenery and Floral FUREAI Park provide an ideal place for relaxing and pursuing leisure activities amidst the beautiful natural landscape of Sori Lake. Here you will find facilities and activities to deepen your knowledge of plum trees.
You will find the Ume House located in the heart of the park as well as a greenhouse, barbecue house and much more.
◆ Towns of Okada Region
The Okada Region once prospered as the origin of Chita's cotton. Today, the streets and old houses with Japan's traditional black-slated walls and roof tiles still retain the atmosphere of ancient periods, evoking nostalgia in the minds of passerby.
This area is blessed with a mixture culture from several eras - Edo, Meiji, Taisho and Showa - where people can explore the history of Chita City.
◆ Owari Manzai
Approximately 800 years ago, in the Kamakura-era, a priest in Nagoya recited scriptures to music, which was the origin of the Owari Manzai performance.
This was then introduced to the Chita Peninsula and then spread throughout Japan.
Chita City has made the commitment to preserve this cultural heritage; it is designated as an important intangible cultural heritage of Japan.
◆ Industrial Area On The Coastal Area
A large-scale industrial area has been created on the coastal area where power generation and oil refinement are located. Installed in between the industrial coastal area and residential area is a 100-meter wide so-called green belt which is a green tract of land that plays careful attention to the environment.
This single grain whisky was made with diverse unblended whisky brewing techniques and master craftsmanship developed over many years at the Chita city in Aichi Prefecture. It features a light taste and delicately sweet fragrance.
The design features black calligraphy that expresses the distinctive qualities of Japanese whisky set on a white Japanese washi paper label representing the light flavor.

- Located on the west coast of the Chita peninsula in Aichi.
- "Tokoname" was named after the fact that "toko (its ground)" is "nameraka (smooth)".
- The city with 1000 years history of Tokoname-yaki (ceramics), abundant gifts from the lse Bay, and an international airport suited for the age of great international exchange.
- "Pottery Footpath" has nostalgic scenery unique to Tokoname, such as kilns, brick, chimneys, earthen pipes and shochu (distilled spirit) pots.
- In Rinku Town, large-scale shopping centers and sightseeing facilities has been constructed and developing remarkably.

◆ Central Japan international airport(Centrair)
"Centrair" has opened in February, 2005, as an entrance of the sky in the central part of Japan. Centrair has not only airport function, but also substantial commercial establishments, and therefore it is pretty popular as a leisure spot.
There are a bath with a great view, about 300 meter-long outdoor-facility, "Sky Deck" where people can overlook a runway, and a restaurant in which people can enjoy meals while watching airplanes.
◆ Access to Centrair
It takes about 30-40 minutes by car from Nagoya city by using Nagoya Expressway, Chita peninsula road and Centrair line.
The parking lot directly linked to the terminal building of Centrair is in 24-hour operation, and has space for 5,800 cars.
It takes only 28 minutes at the earliest from Nagoya by using Limited Express train "μ-sky".

◆ INAX Live Museum
This museum complex, operated by INAX Corporation, comprises the INAX Tile Museum, the INAX Kiln Plaza and Museum, the Soil and Mud Museum, the Manufacturing Factory, the Ceramic Factory, and other facilities that provide visitors with hands-on experience of the beauty, fun and history of earthenware (Admission required at some facilities). > TEL:0569-34-8282
◆ Pottery Footpath
Approx. 5 min. walk to east side of Meitetsu Tokoname Station; Enjoy the promenade starting at the Ceramic Hall (Course A: 1.5 km (0.93miles)/ 60min). The meandering roads are like a labyrinth, with various scenes unique to Tokoname, such as kilns, brick chimneys, earthen pipes and shochu (distilled spirit) pots.
◆ Tokoname Invitation Cat Street
Familiar with 2 head high "Lucky cat" holding an oval coin. Approximately 80% of them are manufactured in Tokoname. 39 bodies of winning celestial lucky cat for home safe and winning the game, and "watching over cat toko-nyan" lead you from the Meitetsu Tokoname station to the departure point of the pottery footpath.
A vast shopping zone with lots of Tokoname-yaki specialty shops. You can buy ceramic pottery at a reasonable price unique to direct wholesale market. There are pottery workshops and galleries, which you can enjoy with your family.
◆ Rinku Beach
A beautiful sandy beach with a view of the airplane taking off and landing, magnificent sea view, and romantic evening scenery.
You can enjoy jogging and walks in the promenade along the coastline, while sea fishing in the revetment.
◆ Ruins of Ono castle
Built by Mr. Ichikura in 1350. Then when Mr. Saji became a castle owner, Oda Nobunaga got married real sisters and niece to the castle owner. It can be seen that this castlle was an important strategic base in this region. In addition, in the fourth generation Issei, "江" which is the mother of Tokugawa Iemitsu later was married. Currently it is popular as castle-shaped Shiroyama Park, and from the observation deck you can enjoy the large panorama of the Suzuka Mountains and Ise Bay.
◆ Morita House of taste
Traditional food culture at the brewery of the Edo period is introduced. You can enjoy shopping and dining in sake, miso, soy sauce, if you have groups of 15 or more, you can also visit the factory (reservation required).

Handa is located in the center of Chita Peninsula and facing the sea.
Handa was established in 1937.
It had flourished in shipping business and a brewing industry for a long time and was developing as a center city of politics, economy and culture in Chita area.
In the gentle hilly country, summer is cool by refreshing sea breeze and winter is relatively warm.
Handa has various special products which make use of the rich nature.
- -Chita Wagyu beef
Handa is the birthplace of the Chita dairy farming.
As the westernization of diet, the production of beef cattle began.
The beef is very tender, and it has a good reputation for sweet of fat.
Sweet strawberry is grown in warm climate of Handa.
You can enjoy strawberry picking in plastic greenhouses.

- -Fruit tomato
Tomatoes containing high sugar are harvested.
Pork grown in warm climate and fertile land with the bounty of water is very tasty.
- -Brewing industry (KAMOSU)
Brewing industry (such as vinegar, sake, miso and soy sauce) has been prosperous since Edo period. The shops in Handa serve “HANDA KAMOSU GOHAN” made with vinegar, sake, miso and soy sauce. You can come in contact with the food culture of Handa and the brewing industry.

Dashi festival has history for 300 years and its traditions and cultures have been passed down to today. The characteristics of Dashi are the decoration of delicate and elegant carvings, embroideries and marionettes. "Kamezaki Shiohi Festival" has been designated as an important intangible folk culture asset. “Handa Dashi Festival” is held once every five years and 31 Dashi get together. A lot of visitors (about 550,000) enjoy this festival.
You can see the traditional townscape with the blackboard brewery storehouse along the Handa Canal and the tasteful scenery of Edo period is handed down to today. Near Handa Canal, there is "Kunizakari Museum of Sake" where you can study history of making sake and enjoy tasting sake. In experience-based museum “MIZKAN MUSEUM”, you can not only feel attractions of history of making vinegar and the food culture, but also enjoy and learn them.
A fairy tale "Gongitsune" is famous and appears in school textbooks. The original author, Nankichi Niimi was born and grew up in Handa. And he loved his hometown. His stories describe full of rich nature of his hometown and his kindness and empathy. Cluster amaryllises appearing his story flourish along Yakachi River over 3,000,000 every fall.
◆ Red Brick Building in Handa
The Red-brick Building built in 1898 as beer’s brewery of Marusan Corporation. It was designed by Tsumaki Yorinaka, who is one of the big three of architectural world of Meiji period. It is one of the largest scale brick building in all of Japan.
The design of this building has historical value. It has been designated as registered tangible culture properties and Heritage Industrial Modernization.
This building is a popular sightseeing spot, where visitors can enjoy not only all-the-time display introducing the history of this building but also exhibitions, events and “Handa Red Brick Market” which is held on 4th Sunday evert month. In the café, you can taste classical German beer “KABUTO BEER” that has been made in Meiji Era. You can taste it only here. Let’s enjoy tasting "KABUTO BEER".
◆ Yuru-chara (Yuru-chara is a mascot character acting as a symbol of a certain city or region.)

He is energetic five-year-olds boy who loves Dashi of Handa. He wishes that citizen of Handa makes their hearts one by "Dashi Festival". He got 9th at the Yuru-chara Grand Prix 2015 in Japan.
Gonkichi-kun[Image character of a fairy tale "Gongitsune"]
He is a fox who wears a hat and jacket which the author of "Gongitsune", Nankichi wore. He wears also gloves associated with a fairy tale "Tebukurowokaini (Going to Buy Gloves)".
His job is to show you Nankichi’s fairy world as substitute for Nankichi.
A town of Traditional culture and Traditional brewing process - Taketoyo
Symbol of Taketoyo Town
The Town of Taketoyo has a long history as a port and because of the railroad (JR Taketoyo Line). In 1899, a port called "Taketoyo Port" was opened. This port and six other ports of cities and towns nearby were merged to form, "Kinuura Port" in 1957. They reclaimed land from the sea and constructed factories on it to make the foreshore into an industrial zone in 1960's. Mainly steel and scrap iron are exported to China, U.S., Singapore, and Malaysia from Kinuura Port. Coal, rice, and millet are imported from Australia, U.S., and China.
Two railroads, JR Taketoyo Line and Meitestu Kowa Line run through the town and have four stations. JR Taketoyo Line is one of the most historical railroads in Japan. It was opened in 1886.
The traditional industries in the town center around the production of soy sauce, miso (fermented soybean paste), and the like. Since the climate is mild on the peninsula, rice and dairy farming, and modern agriculture such as flower (carnations) and vegetable cultivation have been developed. The new elements in the industrial base of Taketoyo include chemical products, glass, and pharmaceuticals.
◆ Dashi of bravely
Dashi is a kind of festival float decorated with ornaments.
Taketoyo town has eleven Dashis these were made in 1800s and has been kept carefully.
Taketoyo Dashi Festival is held twice a year. (Spring and Summer)
Some of the Dashis are very unique.
- It is shape of ship.
- Hand tube fireworks is performed on the Dashi using targets shaped like the mouth of snake.
◆ Traditional taste (Miso and Tamari soy sauce)
The town of Taketoyo has long been home to well-established miso, and tamari soy sauce industries.
There used to be 50, breweries in the town.
There are some breweries in Satonaka, Oashi, and Komukae area continue to make miso and tamari soy sauce now.
You can see the nostalgic townscape with storehouses clad in black timber.
◆ Railroad heritage (Train Turntable)
It was restored at the site of the Taketoyo-minato Station.
They used this turntable to turn the railway cars.
There's nothing like this turntable which has two rails crossing each other at right angles anywhere else now in Japan.
That makes it a very precious heritage item of railroad culture.
◆ Icchoda meadow (be able to observable Insectivorous Plants)
Icchoda meadow is located in the north west of Taketoyo.
There are precious insectivorous plants such as shirobana-nagaba-no-ishimochiso and himemimikakigusa.
These plants are so botanically valuable.
This meadow is opened 5 days a year so that everyone can see these plants.

There is an exhibition corner of the historical industry that shows the state of the Meiji Era such as the town of the brewery industry, Taketoyo port, railroad truck, etc.
We also have a multi-purpose hall / meeting room rental office.
There is also a multipurpose square where there are playground equipment and garden house 'Azumaya', and you can take a break slowly with spacious grass.

People, Streets, and Nature. A town of Glowing Health – Mihama

- Mihama town is located south of the Chita peninsula and fronts Mikawa bay and Ise bay.
- In 1955, Mihama started as forming merger with Kowa-town and Noma –town. And Mihama town acted of welcoming of Kosugaya town (area of Kaminoma).
- There is a beautiful nature and Mihama town is rich in resources for tourism.
- Monument to Commenmorate the First Japanese Translator of the Bible was built. Three members of the crew drifted down to Washington. While wandering the foreign land, the surviving crew members completed the world's first Japanese translation of the Bible with the help of a German missionary priest. This monument commemorates this historical event.
- Mihama town has a camps of Nihon Fukushi University it is known welfare university. It has been selected "Center of Community", Nihon Fukushi University and Mihama town is requested to match their problems and resolve them.

This house was built in Chitamihama Hometown Symbol Park as the main facility for sightseeing.
It is a multi-purpose facility featuring a local specialty shop, a restaurant offering dishes created using local Foods, and workshop rooms for bamboo crafts, charcoal crafts, Flower pressing and salt-making. Home-made, natural sea salt "Mihama-no-Sio" is available only here.
◆ Noma Todai Lighthouse / Kizuna-no-Neiro(Tones of Ties) Monument
This 18-meter-high lighthouse cuts a striking figure against the vast blue sky and sea. A monumentti titled "Kizuna-no-Neiro (Tones of Ties)" was erected in October 2011 at the best location for enjoying the sunset over lse Bay，making this a popular spot for couples to linger.

◆ "Chidori-ga-hama" Beach (Designated as Japan's 100 Most Beautiful Beaches)
It is the one of the most famous beach in Tokai area.
Chidori-ga-hama Beach has long history and 350,000 beachgoers visits there throughout the year.
Chidori-ga-hama has exceptional sand of fine grains and beautiful sunset.
Therefore, this beach is designated as Japan's 100 Most Beautiful Beaches in 1996.
◆ Matsushima "Manyou-no-oka" (Designated as Japan's 100 Most Beautiful Sunset)
Shinojima is located in Mikawa bay Semi-national Park and about 3km off the south east of Morozaki Port.
A coastline of the surrounding 8.2km is the topography which has many varieties and is called Matsuhima in Tokai.
You can see the sunset from Manyou-no-oka spreads out widely in front of your eyes.
So it's select as Japan's 100 most Beautiful Sunset.
◆ "Minami-chita hot Spring Village"
The hot springs of Utsumi, Yamami and Toyohama are called "Minami-chita Hot Spring Village."
