  • Are there anythings I should bring at registration on site ?

    ■What to bring:
    - Photo ID - Passport, Japanese driver's license.


    Nothing needs to be submitted at athlete check in.
    Please submit the documents electronically in advance as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.

  • Can family members and/or friends check-in for me and pick-up my race packet?

    Only registered athletes are allowed into Registration to pick-up race packet.

  • In the case of relay, should only the captain participate in the race briefing and athlete check-in?

    All relay members are required to participate in the race briefing. The 2020 race briefing will be held remotely. Please watch the video the way you were notified. You need to take and pass the test on the web about the content of the race briefing.

  • Are there sending in advance?


    There is no sending by mail.

  • What do I receive at the Athlete Check in?


    You will receive two transition bags (one of them is a packet bag), two race numbers, a pair of bike & helmet stickers, one wristband, one swim cap, race memorabilia and goods purchased at the entry.

  • I've never participated in a triathlon, but can I participate?


    Athletes must have finished at least one triathlon race in Olympic distance (51.5km) or longer within the last 5 years back from the date of registration for entry. Or they must have admission by the organizer based on their capability and experience of swimming, bicycles, marathons as a special measure.

  • Are participants selected by lottery?


    Participants will be decided on a first-come-first-served basis. We will close the entry when the capacity is reached.

  • Can I entry the race without JTU Membership registration?


    All athletes are required for JTU Membership registration. However, if you are a resident of overseas, you can also participate with a 1day license. Entry can be done if it applies to the following:


    1. JTU annual member for 2020 at the time of entry (membership number will be required when you entry)

    Note: JTU Membership registration and renewal for 2020 will be accepted from noon on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the following URL at http://www.jtu.or.jp/register/index2020.html

    Note: If you do not have a web registration service, please contact the Affiliated Organizations Office.

    It may take a few days to issue the registration number. In order to enter smoothly, we recommend the early procedure.


    2. If you are resident of overseas, it is required to pay +JPY1,000 for a JTU 1day license in addition to the participation fee.

    (In the case of an entry in the overseas resident category, it is included in the participation fee.)


    Note: For athletes participating in the relay, registration is recommended, but it is not required.

  • How can I pay?

    We only accept the payment with credit card(VISA/MASTERCARD/AMEX).

  • How can I confirm my registration?

    When you receive an entry confirmation email from ACTIVE, the entry is complete.

    You can also check it on ACTIVE.com My Page. Please confirm by entering your registered e-mail address and password from "Sign in" at the top right of the linked site below.

  • Can I transfer my entry to another person?


    No one can participate the race on your behalf in any circumstances.

    Also it's not possible to carry forward your entry in the next year or later or transfer it to other races.

  • Can we change our team members?


    Change of team members will be accepted Until September 10th.

    If you wish to change team members, please contact the race office. (info@ironman703.jp)

  • How many AID stations are there along the course?

    At Aid Stations, we are considering hydration and nutrition way that can avoid contact with volunteers. Athletes need to take measures such as slowing down sufficiently.

    It is a pit-in method. You can stop and then refill your bike bottle with water or sports drinks yourself.


    On Bike course, there are 1 AID stations that you will pass 7 times in total. Bottled water and sports drink are available to you.

    On Run course, there are 5 AID stations. Water, sports drink, salt tablet, bananas, and sponge will be available.

    It is installed approximately every 2km.

    Please bring your own water and supplements to reduce the frequency of hydration and nutrition at the aid stations.

  • How can I know the course?

    Please refer to the "70.3 Course" page.

  • I want to know the difference of elevation of the bike and run course.

    Please refer to the "Course" page.

    Difference of altitude and difference of elevation are posted.

  • What is water temperature on race day?

    The water temperature on race day in the past five years are as follows.


    2019 : 21.7 degrees Celslus

    2018 : 21.5 degrees Celsius

    2017 : 19.5 degrees Celsius

    2016 : 22.2 degrees Celsius

    2015 : 20.2 degrees Celsius

  • Can my family and friends join the party?

    The award party for the 2020 race has been cancelled.

  • Will friends/family members be allowed to cross the finish line with athlete?

    Friends and/or family members are not permitted to cross the finish line or enter the finish chute with participating athletes.
    This policy allows each competitor adequate time to celebrate their accomplishment without interfering with other finishers and ensure the safety of all participants, volunteers, and fans.
    Athletes who choose not to respect the policy will receive an automatic disqualification (DQ).

  • Can I receive Bike and Transition Bag near finish area after finish the race?

    (*Please refer to information of 2019. We will announce the information of 2020 after decision.)


    You can receive your Bike and Transition Bag after the race at Airport Ferry Terminal South or south parking of Tokoname Boat race.

  • Can I participate wearing an uniform with a front zipper?

    Uniforms with a front zipper may be unzipped to any length, provided, that (i) the zipper should be connected at the bottom of the uniform at all times, and (ii) the top of the uniform should cover the shoulders at all times; (DSQ if not remedied promptly). The uniform should be fully zipped when crossing the finish line.

  • Are there cut off times?


    Swim: 1 hour 10 minutes, Bike: 5 hours 9 minutes 30 seconds, Run: 8 hours (all elapsed time from swim start)

  • Can I participate wearing a smartwatch?


    You can only use a smartwatch as a clock or GPS measurement.

    It is prohibited to operate, communicate, record, etc. during the race.

    You will be disqualified if you do these action during the race.

  • How to start a swim?

    It start by rolling start.

  • In the case of relay, will it be disqualified if a swimmer fails to swim by cut off time?


    The race can be continued with the advance start, but it will be excluded from the award.

  • Can I swim wearing a restube?


    You can swim wearing a restube, but you will be disqualified if you use it as a float or even if it opens by accident.

  • Can I rent bike at the venue?

    Our office don't lend bike.

    You will run through 90.1km course on the bike, Please prepare a bike suitable for your body and do no injuries.

  • Can I take a trial swim at Shinmaiko Marine Park Blue Sun Beach before the race?


    You cannot swim even a day before the race. (Except during Iron Kids race, warm-up on the day of the race, and the race)

  • Is there parking space?


    Please refer to the "Parking" page of "Transport".

  • Are there accommodations?


    They are nearby the venue.

    Please refer to the "TOUR / ACCOMMODATION" page.

  • Are there places to change clothes?

    No, there is not.

    As a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, there will be no changing tents at the 2020 race.

  • Is there a luggage storage?

    There is no space at the start area and finish area where large luggage such as suitcases can be stored. Please use lockers at the airport or train stations, etc..

    If you have a luggage that you want to receive immediately after you finished at the finish venue, you can storage it in a transition bag (black string) at the race day.

    You cannot storage valuables.
